Roti
This casual, chic "Modern American Brasserie" is the latest inventive eatery from the Still Foods Restaurant Group. True to the French tradition, Roti offers a plethora of rotisserie, lava rock grill and house-smoked meats, seafood and vegetables, with a dash of culinary creativity. Some of the most innovative items on offer include Creole Rotisserie chicken dry-rubbed with spices, and grilled polenta with apple-mustard sauce (JY1800), espresso and peppercorn steak frites with shoestring potatoes and blue cheese butter (JY2400), Roti lamb chops Piramide with Tunisian-style cous cous and minted pinot noir glaze (JY2400) and fast-roasted snapper with lemon caper brown butter and black olive mashed potatoes (JY1900). Roti stocks over 50 California wines imported by SanSonoma and serves Oregon Real Ale from the tap.

Garden View Restaurant
The already popular lunch buffet at the Garden View Restaurant on the first floor of Capitol Tokyu Hotel just got a little cheaper. Over 30 dishes, along with desserts, fruits, tea and coffee, line the buffet table. The fare is mainly French with a few Japanese, Chinese or Indian daily specials tossed in for good measure. Roast beef sliced-to-order is one of this buffet' highlights (JY2500).
Open 12-2:30pm lunch. 2-10-3 Nagata-cho, Chiyoda-ku. 03-3581-4511. Nearest stn: Chiyoda line/Marunouchi line Kokkaigijido stn or Namboku line/Ginza line Tameikesanno stn.

La Tula
This two-story Tex-Mex joint opened its doors last December, and following the globe's new fondness for mezcal, features a tequila bar on the first floor with a multitude of brands to taste-test. Upstairs, the modern, 32-seat dining room adorned with art-deco chairs adds a touch of class to Tex-Mex's pedestrian reputation. Marinated shrimp and vegetable (JY1200), grilled chicken with mole (spicy chocolate sauce) (JY1600), churizo and homemade tortillas are a few of the house specialties.
Open 11:30am-2pm lunch, 5pm-3am dinner. Closed Sundays and holidays. 1-7-2 Akasaka, Minato-ku. 03-3568-6684. Nearest stn: Tameikesanno stn, exit #13, near Pronto. stn.
