ERICA, MONIQUE, IRENE/
PARK RANGERS
Erica: We' at Ueno Park, teaching Monique to skate! My favorite park is Shinjuku Gyoen;
it has lots of grass to fall on.
Monique: I'm falling on my ass!! I like Yoyogi for the guys out front doing cool
skateboard tricks.
Irene: I'm learning how to "stop" on Rollerblades. I like Yoyogi too, cuz it's
good for people watching.
Our ideal picnic basket? It would have to have Jamaican beef patties... and some
Bandaids... and a beer and a guitar...
MARY & HORACE/
HUNTING-WORKING DOGS
We're in Ueno Park, just making friends. This is our favorite park in Tokyo because every
day we meet nice, friendly dogs; and owners too of course! Our basket has to have dog food
and balls so we can all party together.
RACHEL, KARINA & JASPER/
TEACHERS
Karina: We're at Yoyogi Park but my favorite is Shinjuku Gyoen-a little bit of peace in
the city.
Rachel: I like Showa Kinen Koen; it's massive!
Jasper: I'll go anywhere with good smells! Today's menu is potato salad, avocado, herb
chicken and fruit beer!

Here comes the sun and with it the summer fun, and what better way to pass the days than
catching some rays with your mates in the park. This week our roving reporter asks: Which
park are you at and what are you doing? Which is your favorite park and why? And what
would be in your picnic basket for your ideal picnic in the park?
KELKA & BRATANA/
STUDENTS
Bratana: We are in overcrowded Yoyogi Park, which I think is pretty cool anyway.
Kelka: I don't have a favorite but I like parks where you can walk barefoot on the grass.
Shinjuku Park during sakura season is pretty good.
Our ideal picnic basket has yoghurt, fruit and chicken - they rule!

BUSINESSMAN
I'm walking my pet ferret in Yoyogi Park. I'd prefer to be in Kasai Rinkai Park because
it's close to the ocean and there's a lot of greenery. I'd stuff a picnic basket with good
friends and great food.
