I play Guitar Freaks in Shibuya about ten times each week. I' not very good but I like
it. I'd like to get better I don't even usually look at my score right now!

I play Dance Dance Revolution around Shibuya two to three times a week. I'm no good but I
like it anyway. I don't care about the scores.

I play in game centers in Shibuya, Meguro and Nakano, about 15 times each week. Since
Dance Dance Revolution came out I've spent over JY20,000 on it. My best score was
140,000,000.
Game On! Photos by Beezer
In arcade-addicted Tokyo the days of the pinball machine and the one-armed bandit are
numbered, as a new generation of ultra hi-tech machines emerge to put your talent to the
test - Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Freaks and DJ Master, to name but a few. This week
we peek inside a few game centers around the city and ask what you're playing, how often
you're playing it and, basically, are you any good?
ICHIKAWA YUICHIRO/
UNSPECIFIED
I'm playing the DJ machine at a game center in Jiyugaoka. I only play for about five
minutes. I'm not really good - my highest score is 80,000, give or take a few.
TORU FENDER/
ROADIE
Normally I play Guitar Freaks in Kichijoji but today I'm playing in Shibuya. I play at
least once a day, maybe twice, hard to say as the machine is more difficult than a guitar.
My best score was 12,000,000.
