I have been coming and going for some time now, today from Singapore. I once slept through
central Tokyo, Saitama and woke up in Gumma somewhere. I' seen the usual things while
traveling, people throwing up, nothing much really!

Where am I coming from? The past to the future! In England I slept from Hammersmith to
Cockfosters and back! The strangest thing I've encountered was on a London Tube train and
the driver stopped the train and said he isn't driving to Clapham before he's eaten his
lunch.

I was just in Shinjuku. The longest I have slept on a train was from Roppongi almost all
the way to Hakone. A friend and I were on a train once and the girl next to him vomited on
his suit.

Tokyoites spend so much
time riding the rails that most of us do double time and catch some Z's as well. This week
we track down some veteran riders and find out where they're coming from, what they've
seen and whether they've ever woken up on the wrong side of the tracks.

I have just come from Paris. I slept for thirteen hours on the train once. The train doors
are a problem; I keep hitting my head every time I get out!
KYOKO/PIANIST
I just came back from Paris and the longest I slept on a train was eighteen hours in
Moscow. A purse being stolen was the strangest thing I have seen while on a train!
