STREET TALK

SORA
For the last month I' been selling personalized postcards. I'm not making enough maybe it's time to find a new job.

KITTY
I've spent the last two months selling rings made from metal wire in Harajuku and Shimokitazawa. It's not too bad - I make enough for my own needs.

HIRO
I've got postcards, drawings and things I've designed for sale. I've been doing this for about six months. Do I make enough to survive? Not at all. My rent was overdue, I was kicked out of my apartment and now I have to live at home.

Take a walk down most any hip street in Tokyo and somebody's selling something. But do these street vendors have a long shelf life? This week we ask a few to bare their wares and give us the bottom line: how fast do you have to peddle to stay alive?

FRANK
I'm selling Mexican jewelry. I've been doing this for the last year. I'm making enough to survive but this business is following the economy!

AMBER and YAIR
We're selling old junk that we need to get rid of. We're only doing this today and there's no money in it! If we're lucky there'll be enough for our dinner.
