PETER CONFORTI / TEACHER
Since I' moved to Tokyo my Internet access has been limited to Internet cafes. The idea
of DSL is great, but in the meantime I'm tempted to go with a cable modem connection.
While I currently spend fiveto eight hours a week online my Internet secret is the copious
amount of time I used to spend on the Net.
YOKO NAKAMURA / INTERNET DEVELOPER
I currently have a fiber-optic cable Internet connection, but it's very expensive.
Spending at least 60 hours a week online means that I've collated a lot of secret data
that I don't want to reveal until I die.
GUY PERRING / IT MANAGER
I'm currently connected via the ISDN phone line and haven't given much thought to DSL.
While my current service is OK it's ludicrously expensive. I only surf at home for ten
minutes a day and spend a lot of time online at work if the boss is away. My darkest
Internet secret is the fact that I don't really understand it.
Do you DSL? Photos by Beezer
With the imminent launch of DSL
reputedly making the Internet faster and more accessible, TC went out see if the
public is responding to the hype. We wanted to know if you are dissatisfied with your
current service and likely to switch to DSL? And for those who like to while away the wee
hours online, we asked what your darkest Internet secret is.
LEYLA HARBOTTE / TEACHER
I don't particularly need to switch to DSL as I have an email phone. I use the Internet
about five to six hours per week, and I never reveal my secrets.
KEI TORISU / PHOTOGRAPHER
Right now I'm plugged into ISDN and I "can't get no satisfaction" with my
Internet service. I'll definitely change to DSL since I use the Internet at least five to
six hours a day. My darkest Internet secret is www.water-bed.net
...you'll have to check that one out for yourself.
