KAZUKI WATANABE / FREELANCE
I am prepared to lose JY1000 today, but I haven' backed a winner yet. I often come here
when there's an event, but of course gambling is an addiction.

I am prepared to lose JY15,000. I backed three winners. This is my first time here. I
don't think horseracing is rigged, but some local racecourses are a bit on the dodgy side,
though. I find it strange that winnings get calculated in a machine after the last race.
Is gambling an addiction? Yes, it depends on what you mean. It's a good day out though.

I am prepared to lose JY5000-actually, all my horses lost today. This is my first time
here at the Fuchu track. Gambling used to be a bit of an addiction for me.
You bet! Photos By Beezer
This week we headed to the track to discover whether you're prepared to put your money
where your mouth is. We wanted to know how much you like to wager, when you fancy a
flutter, if you've got a nose for winners, and what your take on gambling is - addiction
or just fun?
MASAHIRO KIMURA / BUSINESS

I am prepared to lose JY5000. I was lucky. I backed a winner and doubled what I'd bet. I
come to the track once or twice a month. I don't think horseracing is rigged, and even if
it were, I wouldn't care. Gambling is not really an addiction for me-I sometimes come and
watch the race without betting anything.

I haven't backed a winner, I'm just happy to be here. This is my first time at this track,
and I'll stake up to JY10,000 today. But I'll be back. I don't think horseracing is
rigged, and gambling can be an addiction if you're not careful.
