Bellinroston
Developed by Japan's top dermatologists, Bellinroston's highly acclaimed soaps have no artificial colors, fragrances or preservatives. Visitors to the Sarugakucho shop can test the soaps in the sinks provided - the milky white Roston Pearl, distinguished for its makeup-cleansing ability and the silky-smooth feel after use, is a must-try (JY1600). Other standouts include the crimson Roston Ruby, containing amino acids for those with more delicate skin (JY2000), while the ebony Roston Black, with sulfur ingredients for added oil-absorbing and whitening effect, is also included in the range (JY1600). Aside from the solid soaps, liquid body soaps and shampoos made of natural ingredients are available. For remote customers, a soap delivery service (03-5722-8181) is offered - if you spend more than JY4800 the delivery fee will be waived.

Belts are in this spring, and Japan's first belt-specialty store gives you the opportunity to create your own waist-hugging accessory. Belt&Belt provides 250 kinds of detachable buckles (JY2500 and above) and 20 kinds of leather including cowhide, crocodile and snakeskin (JY7500 and above). Mens, womens and childrens belt sizes are available, and you can choose the length and the width you like. Completed models include a handcrafted, carved belt (JY26,000) with silver buckle and tip (JY25,000), while a turquoise-adorned buckle (JY14,000) is also on offer. What's more, pets too can buckle up with Belt&Belt's fashionable pet collar range.

Shayla & Roko
Good honey is a rarity in Japan, but Roko Nozaki, director of Shayla & Roko, imports "the world's best" Strathardle Honey from Scotland. Thanks to the clean water, the country's highland region is reputedly covered with the finest flowers for honey. The lustrous Blossom Honey (JY2600/lb) is made from berry flowers, the amber-colored Heather Honey (JY3000/lb) from wild heather, while the distinctive Whiskey Heather Honey (JY3600/lb) contains single malt whiskey. Honey is not only good with bread, plain yogurt, coffee and tea, but is also a welcome ingredient in cooking - rich in minerals and containing 38 percent fructose, but no sucrose, honey can be easily digested and is a pure energy source. Customers can taste all three honeys - in addition to a variety of herbal teas - in the store. Small stocks of these honeys can also be found at Aoyama Kinokuniya and Yokohama Sogo.
