Masatsugu Nakajimi
Masatsugu Nakajimi, President of NB Club

Maki Nibayashi gets the lowdown on some entertaining work opportunities at NB Club from President Masatsugu Nakajima.

Please tell us a bit about your company.

Our company was established in 1947. In 1963, we were able to rent out a large space in Ginza 8-chome, and we opened a cabaret. Ever since then, we have moved along with the times and are still known for serving good food and providing excellent entertainment. We have had very unique establishments with names such as Grand Palace and Julius Caesar and have been a popular fixture on the Ginza scene for years. Also, in the same building we operate a yakiniku (beef BBQ) restaurant, and an okonomiyaki, monjayaki and teppan grill restaurant in Ginza 6-chome and 7-chome. Our newest non-restaurant venture is our Ginza Gallery in the basement of our building. We have set up a website called www.ginzanet.com and from there, we provide all sorts of information on restaurants and events around town.

What is the concept of NB Club?
I guess it would be something like a New York nightclub, although in reality there is nothing like the NB Club in New York. NB Club is a world of imagination and excitement. I think many Japanese and foreigners who' lived in Japan for a few years get tired of the regular izakaya and karaoke scene. We offer four live stage shows every night and serve all types of food from the Pacific Rim: Hawaiian, Japanese, Western and Chinese. We are planning to start up a new Brazilian and Sri Lankan menu at the end of the year. Basically, anything goes. Our places change every month and even every week, assuring that there's always a good time to be had by all.

What positions are you seeking to fill?
As of now, we are looking for native English-speaking waiters and waitresses, who can not only provide friendly and accurate service to our customers, but who also have entertaining capabilities. We feel that even our floor staff have an obligation to entertain all our customers. We are not looking for people who can just bring the dishes out to people and change their ashtrays. We want people who can do these tasks with originality and personality. So applicants should be friendly, lively and entertaining. Also, since we are planning to start a Brazilian churrasco at the end of the year, we need experienced Brazilian chefs to head off this project.

What benefits would the right person receive?
Our hourly wage starts from JY1000 to JY1500. Since we are located in Ginza, we have an array of customers ranging from your regular salaryman to people who travel globally. Based on how you well you perform and cater to customers needs, you can start making connections that would benefit you and your future dreams and meet people who can help you achieve your dream. We encourage this.

Send your resumes to Mr Nakajima at ginzanet@ginzanet.com or G.N.G. Annex, 8-5-6-8F, Ginza, Chuo-ku 104-0061.
