Maki Nibayashi speaks to
Akira Adachi, president of Mitsuhide Shoji about careers in IT business and development.
Please tell us a bit
about your company
Mitsuhide Shoji MHS is a niche market player that has been serving clients with
tailor-made IT solutions since 1992. We are a growing company in a very competitive but
very lucrative business environment. From our inception to date, we have achieved a
significant growth in our core business, IT. We develop application software and package
software named Mujinzo. In addition, we import software packages. We are the authorized
representative for CaseMaker Company and operate DBMaker, which is a SQL database
management system that features multimedia object management, database functions and
cross-platform support. We have seven employees, and each one of them are working quite
independently.
Where do you see your company in the future with regard to the Japanese market?
The IT industry is the fastest growing market in the world, and the demand for IT
products, services and personnel (liveware) is expected to grow by at least 100 percent
during the next decade. Since Tokyo has been identified as a rapidly growing market with
significant potential, we are in the process of expanding our business activities. Over
the past ten years, we have carried out software and web page development using the most
advanced programming languages. In the next two years, our main concentration will be in
the e-business market, with secondary emphasis in the education market. Next year we are
going to build our product Origami-kun, which will be a regular part of kindergarten in
Japan. The CD-ROM allows children to make instant origami from color printed pages.
