Maki Nibayashi talks to Yogesh Sharma, President and CEO of SAVY (P) Ltd. Tokyo, about openings in IT consulting.

Please tell us a bit about your company.
SAVY Infotech is an IT consulting company, and we provide the best quality IT resources to our valued customers. We are the first, a one of its kind company in Tokyo, to offer database management, installation, technical support and off-hours support to our clients. The support we offer includes various RDBMS ( Relational Database Management Systems) like SYBASE, Oracle and UDB.

We are a small, tightly integrated team bringing with us years of technical and hands-on experience in diverse areas of information technology. We also provide facilities to develop software and provide off-site support from India to help our clients reduce their cost. We maintain a friendly, multicultural environment in our office. For a bit of personal history, I myself worked at Goldman Sachs, Japan, in their high technology practice as senior technology analyst focused on database development and management.

What positions are you seeking to fill?
As an IT consultancy and customer support oriented company, we look for dynamic, ambitious, intelligent individuals who can work in a team environment and can work independently from time to time. Presently, we are looking for bilingual project managers and a business development manager with strong technical skills. Over the next few months, we will also be looking for database developers and administrators, and system engineers with strong UNIX system administration skills.

What responsibilities will the right candidate have?
The business development manager will be responsible for developing client relationships, exploring new project requirements and other day-to-day business around the office. The main business areas of development are financial institutes, e-commerce and engineering industries. This job also requires coordination with management and project managers to analyze internal resources and recruitment. The project managers will work on client-server technology, engineering solutions, web technologies and financial projects. They are also responsible for managing their projects and team members independently, and for meeting deadlines while providing quality software solutions.

Could you tell us a bit about salary, benefits, etc?
All our employees receive a competitive salary. Upon successful completion of a probation period, company pension, housing allowance, national health insurance and commutation allowance are all available. We also help with relocating our international employees.

What are your specific areas of business?
Banking and financial institutes, engineering and trading.
