Tokyo party promoters Reflek return with volume two of their recently launched Global Electro series, which got off to a lively start with the first visit to Japan of the highly rated act Coburn.
Womb’s main floor will see sets by two of the pillars of the Berlin scene, who together run the city’s Shitkatapult label. Performing live is Apparat, otherwise known as Sascha Ring. Based in Berlin for the last decade, Apparat tracks bridge glitch-hop and electro, with subtle clicks and samples rubbing shoulders with anything from processed violin to sax lines.
Partnering Ring is Marco Hass, a.k.a. T.Raumschmiere. A pun on the William S. Burroughs short story Die Traumschmiere (The Dream Police), T.Raumschmiere brings the industrial and punk leanings of his roots in ’90s rock bands to electronic compositions, including his most recent album, Blitzkrieg Pop.
In addition to both fronting their own live bands, Ring and Hass have also earned best label honors in a number of recent polls. Providing backup at Womb will be the Reflek crew, including new DJ unit Fetch the Apes, along with veteran electro stylist Duck Rock, who readers may know from past Metropolis Glitterball Halloween parties…

Meanwhile, clubbing website iFlyer hosts one of its mad dos high atop Shibuya in the Legato bar-slash-restaurant on Dogenzaka, with sounds from London-based Andrew Friendly.
With a mission to mix up breaks with electro, bootlegs and oddities, Friendly creates bass-heavy sweat-fests in his residency at Fat! Records’ Chew the Fat night—which are usually held at The End in London, but also tour all over Europe.
Backing Friendly with sets spanning electro, techno and house will be durable domestics Mike McKenna, Q’HEY and Carlos Gibbs.
Reflek presents Global Electro vol.2@Womb, Mar 30. HiFlyer@Legato, Mar 31. See club listings for details.
